What Lesson Have I Learned Recently That Changed My Perspective?

Pour a glass, Peeps… here’s today’s file. ✨🍷🥂

What lesson have I learned recently that changed my perspective?

Well…

Apparently, absolutely none.

Because if I had actually learned my lessons, I wouldn’t keep doing the same dumb stuff over and over like I’m auditioning for Groundhog Day: The Menopause Edition.

At this point, I don’t even think they’re “life lessons.” They’re subscriptions. Monthly renewals. Auto-pay.

I swear Spirit Water is up there looking down at me saying, “Let’s see if she gets it this time.”

Me: Nope.

Spirit Water: “Again.”

Me: “Still nope.”

Spirit Water: “One more time.”

Me: “Hold my mimosa.”

Honestly… is Spirit Water trying to kill me five million different ways? Because some days it sure feels like it! Then again, I’m pretty sure I’m helping with the process.

People always say, “Learn from your mistakes.”

Excuse me… which one?

Can you be more specific? I’ve got a whole catalog.

Some lessons I actually do learn. I hit rock bottom, cry a little, drink a little wine, laugh at myself, dust myself off, and move on.

Other lessons?

Apparently I need to experience them another four million, nine hundred ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred ninety-nine times before the little light bulb finally comes on.

“Ohhhh… THAT’S what everyone was trying to tell me!”

Well, thank you, Captain Obvious.

It’s amazing how clear things become after you’ve ignored every red flag, every gut feeling, every friend’s advice, and every single warning sign that was practically flashing in neon.

But hey… eventually we get there.

Probably.

Maybe.

Hopefully.

The good news is I think Spirit Water protects me from a lot of my own questionable decisions. Otherwise I’d probably have my own reality show called Christy Makes Another Terrible Decision.

I’d watch it.

My parents definitely would.

Speaking of my parents… imagine living with them.

Dad is downstairs throwing out sarcastic one-liners like he’s getting paid by the joke.

Mom is upstairs yelling, “Whatever!” followed immediately by, “I don’t care!”

Spoiler alert…

She absolutely cares.

And there I am in the middle of it all, Googling random things at two in the morning because I’m collecting receipts for the memoir I’ll eventually write.

Every day feels like research.

Every awkward moment is a future chapter.

Every bad decision is just another funny story waiting to happen.

So maybe the lesson I’ve learned is this…

Life isn’t about becoming perfect.

It’s about eventually laughing at yourself before everyone else does.

And if it takes me five million tries to figure something out…

Well…

At least I’ll have plenty of material for this blog.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I probably have another poor decision to go make.

For research purposes, of course.

✨ 🥂🍷Pour another glass, Peeps… laugh at your mistakes, learn when you can, forgive yourself when you don’t, and remember… life is a whole lot more fun when you can laugh at your own chaos. Follow along for more fun, more laughs, and probably a few more questionable life choices.
