What do you do to improve your sleep?
How Do I Improve My Sleep?
Oh, this is a good one. Pull up a chair because the answer is… I don’t. 😂
Let’s be honest. It’s hard enough just being a woman. Then menopause shows up like an uninvited houseguest who refuses to leave. Enough said.
I’ve tried everything. Sleeping pills. White noise. Dark rooms. Reading. Counting sheep. Probably counted the sheep twice because I couldn’t remember if I’d already counted them.
I finally started hormone pellets, and yes, they have helped. But apparently, my body missed the memo that nighttime is actually for sleeping.
I’m still a full-fledged night owl. Actually… I think I’m more of a vampiress. 🦇
While the rest of the world is peacefully dreaming, I’m reorganizing closets, watching TV, shopping online, reading, writing blog posts, or convincing myself I absolutely need another pair of shoes.
Amazon probably thinks I live in a different time zone.
People always ask, “Have you tried this?” or “Have you tried that?”
Yes.
I’ve tried everything except being unconscious.
The funny part is that I’ve realized I actually enjoy being awake at night. It’s peaceful. No phone calls. No emails. No one asking me to do anything. No interruptions. It’s just me, my thoughts, and the occasional late-night online shopping spree that somehow seemed like a brilliant idea at 2:17 a.m.
Those quiet hours have become my little escape. It’s the only time the world slows down enough that I can do exactly what I want without anyone needing anything from me.
Now… if I’m being completely honest…
A couple of mimosas don’t exactly hurt. 😂🍾
I’m not saying they’re a medical solution. I’m just saying they make me care a whole lot less about the fact that I’m still awake.
At this point, I’ve accepted my fate.
Maybe I simply wasn’t designed for eight hours of sleep. Maybe I was born to roam the house after midnight like a friendly neighborhood vampire looking for snacks instead of necks.
I’ve stopped fighting it.
If I sleep four or five good hours, I’ll take it as a win and keep moving.
So how do I improve my sleep?
Apparently… I don’t.
I just embrace my inner night owl, enjoy the peace and quiet, and accept that somewhere around midnight is when my brain decides it’s finally ready to become productive.
Besides… somebody has to keep an eye on the world while everyone else is asleep.
Might as well be me.
✨ Pour a glass, Peeps… and if you’re wide awake at 2:00 a.m., welcome to the Night Owl Club. I’ll be the one online shopping, watching TV, and pretending tomorrow isn’t coming quite so early. 🦉🥂🧛🏻♂️
