What’s the best way to deal with negative thoughts?
Just Don’t Have Negative Thoughts! (If Only It Were That Easy…)
✨ Pour a glass, Peeps… here’s today’s file. 🍷✨
People always ask, “What’s the best way to deal with negative thoughts?”
My answer?
Just don’t have them.
Simple, right?
Okay, okay… I know that’s about as helpful as telling someone who’s stuck in traffic to “just drive faster.” But honestly, I’ve learned that life gets a whole lot easier when you stop giving free rent to thoughts that don’t deserve to live in your head.
I’ve always believed in worrying about what I can control and letting go of what I can’t.
Can I control the weather? Nope.
Can I control what other people think about me? Absolutely not.
Can I control if someone acts crazy? Lord, have mercy… definitely not.
So why am I going to waste my precious time stressing over any of it?
I have much more important things to do… like planning my next vacation, deciding which restaurant has the best pasta, figuring out what bottle of wine to open, and convincing myself that buying one more pair of shoes is actually an investment.
Life is too short.
I’ve noticed something over the years. The people who constantly expect the worst usually find it. They walk around with that little gray rain cloud floating over their heads like Pig-Pen from Charlie Brown—except instead of dust, it’s complaints, drama, and “poor me” energy following them everywhere they go.
Meanwhile, I’m over here looking for sunshine.
Do bad things happen? Of course they do. We’re all going to have tough days. But I’m not going to spend today worrying about something that might happen next Tuesday at 2:17 p.m.
Nope.
I’m letting the universe handle what it needs to handle.
Whatever happens… happens.
And when it happens, I’ll deal with it.
Until then?
You’ll find me smiling, laughing with my family, spoiling my grandkids, traveling somewhere fun, eating amazing food, enjoying a great glass of wine, and making memories that are worth remembering.
Because here’s the truth…
Negative thoughts steal today’s happiness over tomorrow’s possibilities.
I’m not giving them that kind of power.
Life is too beautiful.
You only get one ride on this crazy roller coaster, so you might as well throw your hands up, laugh a little louder, love a little harder, and enjoy every single minute.
After all…
Carpe Diem.
And if a problem shows up tomorrow…
Well… tomorrow’s Christy can deal with it.
Today’s Christy is on vacation.
✨ Pour another glass, Peeps… and choose joy whenever you can. Life’s too short to let a little gray cloud ruin your sunshine. ✨🍷
