What’s a time you followed your gut and it turned out to be exactly right?

Trust Your Gut… It’s Been Right More Than My GPS

People always ask me if I’ve ever followed my gut and been right.

Honey… how much time do you have?

There have been so many times in my life when something deep down was telling me, “Pay attention.” Sometimes it wasn’t even a feeling—it was a dream. And not one of those weird dreams where you’re riding a purple elephant through Walmart wearing pajamas. No, these were the kind of dreams that were so vivid, so real, that I’d wake up with my heart racing and couldn’t shake them all day.

Those dreams bother me because they feel different. They’re intense. They’re loud. They’re like my brain saying, “Hey, CiCi… you might want to listen.”

Now, I don’t know if it’s my Scorpio ♏ intuition, my sixth sense, or if God just knows I need a little extra warning because I can occasionally be hardheaded. (Okay… more than occasionally.)

But I’ve learned something over the years.

When my gut starts talking… I listen.

I’ve ignored it before, and every single time I ended up saying those famous words…

“I knew it.”

Isn’t it funny how we spend so much time asking everyone else what they think? We poll our friends, our family, coworkers, the cashier at Target, random strangers on Facebook… when deep down we already knew the answer.

Your intuition is like that one brutally honest friend. It doesn’t care what you want to hear. It tells you what you need to hear.

I’ve had gut feelings about people…
About jobs…
About business decisions…
About relationships…
And yes… even those dreams that seemed crazy at the time.

Looking back, most of them ended up being exactly right.

Age has taught me something valuable. My intuition has earned my trust. It’s gotten me through some difficult seasons, protected my heart more than once, and reminded me that sometimes the quietest voice inside of us is the wisest one.

So nowadays, when that little voice whispers, “Something isn’t right,” I don’t argue with it anymore.

I simply say…

“Well… here we go again.”

It has a better track record than my GPS anyway.

✨ Moral of the story? Trust your gut. It’s usually the only one in the room that isn’t trying to impress anybody.

✨ Pour a glass, Peeps… and let that intuition lead the way. Sometimes it knows the ending before the story even begins.

One response to “”

  1. “It’s usually the only one in the room that isn’t trying to impress anybody.”

OMG I am so stealing that.
