What are you passionate about?
What am I passionate about?
Well, grab a snack because this list might take a minute.
First and foremost, I’m passionate about my family. My kids, grandkids, parents, nieces, nephews… all of them. I love them more than anything in this world. If one of them called me at 2:00 a.m. needing help, I’d be putting on my bra and grabbing my keys before they finished the sentence.
Family is everything to me.
I’m also passionate about causes that touch close to home. Cancer has impacted people I love, so breast cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and other cancer-related causes have a special place in my heart. When something affects your family, it becomes personal, and personal turns into passion.
Now let’s discuss another one of my passions…
Animals.
Sweet Lord, I love animals.
Sometimes I think I love animals more than people. There. I said it.
Dogs? Absolutely.
Cats? Give me all of them.
Baby goats? I’ll take two.
Cows? Bring them over.
Random stray that wandered into my yard? Congratulations, you’ve been adopted.
Now before anybody gets excited, I’m not talking about those slithering no-shoulders.
Nope.
The snakes can stay right where they are… preferably on another continent.
I don’t trust anything that can move that fast without legs. God gave them an entire planet and somehow they always end up where I am. That’s suspicious behavior.
But cats and dogs? That’s my weakness. If I won the lottery tomorrow, half of Alabama’s homeless animals would suddenly have a home and probably their own memory foam beds.
Another thing I’m passionate about is travel.
If somebody says, “Do you want to go on a trip?” my answer is usually YES before they’ve even finished the question.
Especially if The Rents are involved.
My parents can say, “We’re thinking about going…”
And I’m already packing.
Because I’ve learned something as I’ve gotten older: the trips matter, but the memories matter more.
The beach trips.
The mountain trips.
The random road trips.
The laughs.
The stories.
The pictures.
The moments you don’t realize are special until years later.
You can always make more money.
You can buy more stuff.
But you can never get that time back.
So if there’s one thing I’m truly passionate about, it’s making memories with the people I love while I still can.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to pet a cat, plan a vacation, hug my family, support a good cause, and continue avoiding anything that slithers.
It’s called balance. 🐈⬛🐕✈️🛳️🧑🧑🧒🧒
