What are you good at?
What Am I Good At?
Well…How Much Time Do You Have?
Some people struggle with self-confidence.
Some people struggle with finding their purpose.
And then there’s me.
I struggle with finding closet space.
Because apparently, I’m exceptionally gifted at shopping. And when I say shopping, I don’t mean “grab a few things at Target.” I mean Olympic-level, gold-medal, professional shopping. I could probably teach a masterclass called “Spend It Like You Mean It.”
I LOVE fashion.
I LOVE beautiful clothes.
Shoes. Dresses. Jewelry. Purses. Hats. Belts. Shorts. T-shirts. Cars. Yes…cars count too.
And please understand — we’re not talking bargain-bin clearance racks here. I like the good stuff. The kind of stuff that makes your bank account whisper, “Please…Christy…stop.”
We’re talking:
- Tory Burch
- Lilly Pulitzer
- Louis Vuitton
- Chanel
- Gucci
If it’s expensive and pretty, there’s a strong chance I already own it…or at least have it sitting in an online cart somewhere waiting on “Proceed to Checkout.”
Honestly, I don’t know who I got this from because nobody in my family is like me. At all. I’m convinced I was adopted. God looked down and said, “You know what this family needs? A high-energy event planner with designer handbags and strong opinions about organization.”
And speaking of event planning…
I am REALLY good at leading people and putting events together. Especially 5K runs. At this point, I can practically organize a race in my sleep. You give me a date, a road, a T-shirt order, and a microphone, and somehow by sunrise there will be sponsors, volunteers, medals, bananas, bottled water, and a police escort.
Nonprofit events? Same thing.
I can pull together a team FAST because I already know my people. And my people are just like me — organized, dependable, slightly obsessive, and allergic to chaos. We don’t do “good enough.” We do perfection. If there’s a problem, we solved it before anybody else even noticed it existed.
Honestly, it’s a blessing and a disorder all at the same time.
Which brings me to my next talent:
Cleaning and organizing.
Now let’s be clear — this is not a casual “straighten the pillows” situation. This is full-blown “everything has a place and if you move it I will know immediately” energy.
I like my house CLEAN. Organized. Fresh. Perfect.
People always say, “Don’t worry about cleaning before company comes over!”
Excuse me?
Absolutely not.
You’re going to walk into my house and think:
“Wow. Either she just deep cleaned for 14 straight hours…or she has issues.”
The answer is yes.
I know my OCD tendencies drive me crazy sometimes, but honestly? At least I never have to panic when somebody says, “Hey, we’re in the neighborhood!”
Come on over. The house is spotless, the candles are lit, and I probably reorganized a drawer while we were on the phone.
Now, I KNOW there are more things I’m good at, but these are the ones I’m absolutely confident about:
- Spending money
- Looking fabulous
- Running events
- Leading people
- Organizing chaos
- Cleaning like my life depends on it
And honestly?
That’s a pretty solid skill set if you ask me.
God definitely broke the mold with me…
and probably threw away the receipt too.🛍️👗🧢👚👙👒💍🚙🏃🏻♀️🧹🧼
