What is your career plan?
My Career Plan: Work Hard, Cruise Often, and Live Like a Traveling Queen
When people ask me, “What is your career plan?” they expect a polished answer about climbing the corporate ladder, earning advanced degrees, or becoming the CEO of something important.
Instead, I have a much more practical and honest plan:
I want a career that lets me work from home… or from literally anywhere in the world… so I can travel nonstop.
That’s it. That’s the plan.
My Office Could Be Anywhere
My dream office setup includes:
- A laptop
- Reliable Wi-Fi
- Ocean views
- Room service
- A fruity drink with a tiny umbrella
Today I may answer emails from my kitchen table.
Tomorrow? The balcony of a cruise ship somewhere in the Caribbean.
Next month? A charming boutique hotel in Italy overlooking the Mediterranean.
As long as the internet works, so do I.
Cruises Are Basically My Corporate Headquarters
Some people have corner offices.
I want a cabin with a balcony.
There is something magical about cruising. You unpack once, eat all day, and wake up in a new destination with no responsibility except deciding whether to lounge by the pool or eat another dessert.
My ideal business meeting agenda:
- Breakfast buffet
- Check email
- Visit a tropical island
- Afternoon nap
- Formal dinner
- Repeat
This is what I call work-life balance.
Beach Therapy Is Non-Negotiable
My career plan absolutely includes frequent visits to beautiful beaches.
There is no spreadsheet, board meeting, or conference call that cannot be improved by the sound of waves crashing nearby.
My best ideas arrive when my toes are in the sand and I’m thinking deep professional thoughts like:
“Should I have another frozen drink?”
The answer is always yes.
Europe: My Future Temporary Office
Eventually, I plan to spend several glorious months traveling through Europe.
I want to:
- Wander through ancient streets
- Tour magnificent castles
- Admire breathtaking mountains
- Sip wine in picturesque villages
- Eat every carb in sight
- Pretend I belong there
I fully expect to gain both cultural enrichment and several pounds.
Living My Royal Fantasy
Let’s be honest: part of my European adventure involves imagining myself as royalty.
I will stand in front of centuries-old castles and envision life long ago.
Kings.
Queens.
Grand ballrooms.
Candlelight.
And me, of course, wearing an elaborate ball gown and dancing gracefully with a prince.
In reality, I will probably be wearing comfortable shoes, carrying a camera, and searching for the nearest gelato shop.
But in my imagination? Absolute royalty.
Boutique Hotels Only, Please
If I’m going to work remotely, I might as well do it in style.
My dream accommodations include charming boutique hotels with:
- Plush bedding
- Lavish décor
- Floor-to-ceiling windows
- Stunning views
- Breakfast worth waking up for
If my “office” happens to overlook the ocean, a vineyard, or a medieval castle, I consider that excellent career planning.
I Will Document Everything
Every.
Single.
Little.
Experience.
I will write about all of it.
The food.
The scenery.
The funny moments.
The unexpected adventures.
The prince I may or may not meet.
And, naturally, I will take approximately 4,372 photos to make sure I never forget a thing.
So, What Is My Career Plan?
My career plan is simple:
Build a life and career that allow me to work from anywhere, travel often, stay in beautiful places, create unforgettable memories with my family, and write about every amazing experience along the way.
Some people chase titles.
I’m chasing sunsets, cruise itineraries, European castles, and the perfect ocean-view workspace.
And honestly?
That sounds like a pretty fabulous career to me.🛳️🏰👸🏻🍷🍝🌊⛰️📝📷
