What’s your favorite candy?
What Is My Favorite Candy? (And Why Holidays Were Clearly Invented for It)
Let’s clear this up right now: my favorite candy is Reese’s Cups—but not just any Reese’s Cups. I’m talking about the holiday ones. You know the elites: Christmas trees, pumpkins, Easter eggs… and yes, even the footballs. Regular Reese’s Cups are fine. Respectable. But holiday Reese’s? Superior.
Why? Science. (Okay, not science, but still.) They’re softer. They’re thicker. They have way more peanut butter. And somehow, being shaped like a festive object automatically makes them taste better. Don’t argue with me—I will not be taking questions at this time.
Now—before anyone comes for me—I do know the Little Debbie holiday cakes are good too. Like… everyone loves the Christmas trees, and I am absolutely included in that “everyone.” Those are my favorites, but let’s be honest, all the holiday cakes slap. Snowballs, pumpkins, hearts—Little Debbie understood the assignment.
Which leads to a very real seasonal struggle: too many good options.
So when a holiday rolls around, you better believe I’m making a very intentional trip to The Walley World. Not for decorations. Not for necessities. I’m there for the largest bag of holiday Reese’s Cups known to man—and maybe a box of Little Debbie Christmas trees for balance. And yes, I open it immediately. Yes, I eat some while walking through the store. And absolutely yes, I’m unwrapping one (or three) in the self-checkout line like I’m committing a very small, very delicious crime.
Holidays come and go. Memories fade. But one thing remains constant: if candy is holiday-shaped, I will find it… and I will eat it.
