Do you need a break? From what?
Do I Need a Break—and From What?
Short Answer: Yes. From everything. Permanently.
Do I need a break?
Heck yeah!!! I always need a break. In fact, let’s go ahead and call it what it is: a permanent break from life in general.
Not a “long weekend.”
Not a “self-care Sunday.”
A full-on, out-of-office-forever, “don’t ask me to join the group chat” kind of break.
And of course, Blaze is coming with me. Because Blaze doesn’t visit places—he relocates.
Blaze is my emotional support cat stole, supervisor of all kitchen activities, and highly trained wine watcher. He doesn’t drink the wine, but he judges it. And honestly, he’s usually right.
My permanent break will be somewhere with blue water and soft sand, the kind of place where your biggest decision of the day is:
white wine or red wine beach nap or slightly longer beach nap
Life there moves slower. Nobody is in a rush. No one says, “Circling back on that…” Good food appears without effort. Wine is poured generously. Views are gorgeous, and stress simply… doesn’t have cell service.
I want to travel. I want to write about it. I want to eat amazing food, drink great wine, and wake up without an alarm or a list of responsibilities waiting to pounce. I want my biggest problem to be whether the breeze is too perfect.
Mostly, I want to have fun again. Real fun. Laugh-until-you-snort fun. Live-life-to-the-fullest fun. The kind that reminds you that you’re alive, not just surviving on caffeine and sheer willpower.
And yes—somewhere between the sunsets and the slow mornings, I’d love to find my person. The one who wants to do all of this with me for the rest of our lives. Someone who chooses peace over drama, joy over chaos, and knows that silence can be just as good as conversation—especially if there’s wine involved.
Until then, Blaze and I will be practicing detachment. From drama. From nonsense. From anything that disrupts the vibe.
So do I need a break?
Absolutely.
From what?
✨ Everything that doesn’t feel like freedom ✨
Now if you’ll excuse me, Blaze is watching the wine, and I need to start packing—for my permanent break.
