What would you do if you won the lottery?
If I Won the Lottery…
If I won the lottery, the very first thing I’d do—after screaming, crying, throwing up, and checking the numbers at least 47 times—would be to make sure my kids were set for life. Like actually set. No stressing, no struggling, no “Mama, can you Venmo me?” texts ever again. And my grandchildren? Oh, they’d already have college paid for, plus a little extra because inflation is rude and life is expensive.
Next up: I’m building a small beach house. Not a mansion. Not something with 47 bathrooms I have to clean. Just big enough for all of us to fit comfortably—because I love my people, but I also love personal space. This house would be my forever home. Feet in the sand, drink in hand, good music playing, salt air fixing everything that adulthood broke. When my crazy little life finally winds down, that beach house goes to my kids so they’ll never forget me… or at least never forget where to vacation for free.
Of course, I wouldn’t keep all that money to myself. I’d give back to the local animal shelter—because those sweet babies deserve the world—and to children’s cancer research, because no family should ever have to fight that battle alone.
Then comes the fun part: traveling the world. I’d wander through beautiful places, drink great wine and really good bourbon (for balance), eat amazing food, and write about all of it. Basically a travel blog, but with better snacks and fewer rules. And hey, maybe I’d meet a handsome man or two along the way—because apparently my person is hiding internationally and needs me to find him.
Every now and then, I’d come back to my beach house to recharge, touch base with reality, and remind myself how lucky I am… before hopping right back on the road and traveling Christy-style again.
So yeah. If I won the lottery, I wouldn’t disappear.
I’d just be slightly more tan, slightly more well-fed, and significantly more relaxed. 🌴🍷✨
