đź’•The Pink Electric Blanketđź’•

When I was young, one of my most treasured possessions wasn’t a toy or a book—it was a pink electric blanket.

It was a soft, light pink, the kind of blanket you immediately wanted to curl up with. Night after night, I slept wrapped in it, letting its warmth settle around me like a quiet promise of safety. I loved that blanket so much that I used it well beyond its intended life. Over time, the cords were pulled out, one by one, and the pink satin trim at the ends eventually came loose. But even then, I couldn’t part with it.

That blanket made me feel warm and safe in a way that went far beyond temperature. It held comfort, routine, and the unspoken security of childhood. When I think of it now, it brings back memories of growing up in a home filled with love—simple nights, peaceful sleep, and the feeling that everything was okay.

I believe I received it for Christmas, though I can’t quite remember whether it came from my parents or my grandmother. Funny how time blurs some details while preserving the feelings so clearly. Thinking about it now, I realize I need to ask my parents who gave it to me.

And here’s the part that still makes me smile: I still have that blanket to this day.

Worn, imperfect, and no longer functional, it remains a quiet reminder of comfort, love, and the warmth of childhood—something no amount of time or wear could ever take away.💕
