✨🍷Why Is Dating So Hard These Days — Especially in Midlife?🍷✨
Dating in this day and age feels like navigating a minefield — and when you’re in your 40s & 50s, it can feel downright exhausting. It’s hard enough to trust people’s intentions anymore. So many men don’t seem to want an actual relationship — they just want to “date.” Casual, convenient, and commitment-free.
✨Honestly, I’m tired of dating.✨
At this stage of life, I don’t have the time or emotional energy to waste on people who aren’t serious. I’d rather talk to someone for a while first and see if they’re genuine before I even think about going out with them. I don’t want to be seen around town with different men and have people whisper, “Wow, she dates a lot.” I’d rather take the time to really get to know someone first — not just jump into another first date that leads nowhere.
✨Whatever happened to courting?✨
Remember when men used to actually prove they wanted to be with you? They put in the effort. They called, showed up, and made it clear they were interested. There weren’t games. There weren’t endless “talking stages.” A man had to earn your time and attention.
✨Today, it’s all games.✨
So many men are carrying the weight of their past — failed marriages, bitter divorces, and lost homes, retirement accounts, dogs, and dreams. I get it; life happens. But instead of healing, too many of them decide they just want to “have fun” and avoid anything real. And I’m tired of hearing it.
✨I’ve reached the point where I want to say, “If you want to date me — prove it.”✨
✨Don’t just talk about it. Don’t play games.✨
✨Show me with your actions.✨
Dating doesn’t have to be this hard. It shouldn’t feel like a competition or a test of patience. I just want something real — honesty, consistency, and effort. If that’s too much to ask, maybe it’s better to stay single until someone comes along who still believes in old-fashioned courtship, the kind where actions speak louder than words.
Because in the end, love — real love — shouldn’t feel like a game.
✨ 🍷Pour a glass, ladies… and let that truth settle in. 🍷✨
